This project was a design-build 102,000 SF, C-17 Double Bay Hangar that was designed to house either two C-17 or KC-10 aircraft for maintenance operations. The administrative area provides office space and open work area as well as a break room and bathroom/locker facilities for maintenance personnel. Site work included demolition of three existing facilities. This state-of-the-art maintenance hangar is the first LEED Silver certified hangar built for the Air Force. This facility greatly improves Travis AFB’s ability to maintain critical elements of the C-17 and KC-10 fleet and to support Air Mobility Command’s mission in the Pacific region.
